About
Growing up in the rolling hills and mossy woods of rural Wisconsin, Ethry's natural surroundings mingled with a strong affection for '70s folk musicians like Joni Mitchell, Simon and Garfunkel, and Fleetwood Mac.
Ethry was singing octaves at 3 years old and learning to harmonize at 8 with the help of her parents' tradition of nightly lullabies. When she was 10 she began her classical violin training, and this led to dabbling in ukulele, guitar, and mandolin in college. University also brought indie-pop artists Regina Spektor and Ingrid Michaelson into view, which sparked fun thoughts like “hey -maybe I could do that too...”
Ethry has been laying down violin and vocal tracks since 2015. She put together her own home recording studio in 2020 and is currently an active session musician - recording violin and vocal parts for other artists in the local Madison music scene and beyond, across multiple genres and styles.
